The Case of Animal Experimentation
Chapter two: An Evolutionary Perspective on Humans and Animals
Summary
In the chapter “An Evolutionary Perspective on Humans and Animals” (The case for animal experimentation, 1986), the author, Fox Michael Allen stated that humans are much more developed evolutionarily than animals. In this chapter the author discussed which are the differences regarding to evolution between humans and animals. The author also pointed out that humans should be able to experiment with animals, he supported his idea by saying that according to Judeo- Christians, human kind “ shall have dominion over every living being in the earth” (The case of animal experimentation, An evolutionary perspective on humans and animals, pg 20). The author also claimed that the homo sapiens are species “ eveloped capable of thinking and also capable of using reason” (The case of animal experimentation, An evolutionary perspective on humans and animals, pg 21). The author also mentioned that humans are unique. The author also explained that there is several characteristic that animals and homo sapiens share. The author ilustred his point by saying that some birds can heard and imitate the human voice, and a DNA study which have been performed in chimpanzees and humans reveal a “ genetic relatedness at molecular level” (The case of animal experimentation, An evolutionary perspective on humans and animals, pg 34). The author concluded that humans are the most adaptable animal, and that even though there is some similarities between some animals sand homo sapiens, it is not just in some degree, but it is in kind.

In this chapter, Alejandro plainly stated the anthor's opinion, distinguishing his opinion according to the book, explaining his thesis. Also, he assessed this chapter, giving the content to some extent.
I think he prepared a lot before presentation, and my impression is that his dicatation was somewhat repetitious.
